Second Life: The White Armory

As I am sure you, my dear readers, know full well, The White Armory is one of my absolute favorite stores in Second Life. Anyone who has ever shopped there would have to agree, I think. Not only do they have the most gorgeous Medieval/Fantasy clothing (and weapons, let's not forget the weapons), but they also are so generous as to set out a free group gift every Sunday. The group does not even have a joining fee! So that means a new amazing outfit from the very talented Bee Dumpling, every week.

Anyway, the reason I am writing this post is actually one of those group gifts, the most recent one in fact. It is just such a gorgeous and generous gift, I just had to share. If you are not already a member of the TWA group, join now is my advice.

Let me go straight to the pretty pictures of the amazing gift.

The gown is called Snowbourne Fields and the color is for some reason called Shroom. I thought it looked more like Apricot, but who am I to argue with a genius. The jewelry is actually part of the set, so this week you get not only a gorgeous gown, but the matching jewels as well. The shoes, if you can see them, are TWA Summer Meadow heels for Slink High feet, these are called Buttercup.

For those that follow my posts, you may recognize the hair as the newest release from rezology, Mhysa, which is based on a hair style worn by Daenaerys Targaryen in the TV series Game of Thrones. I thought it fit the outfit.

And after I took all those lovely pictures, I realized I forgot to wear the crown! I'm a dork, what can I say. So please excuse the terrible background in this picture, and just focus on the lovely jewels. Aren't they just perfect?

Second Life: Mhysa

I got this new release from rezology called Mhysa. It's modeled after a hairstyle worn by Daenaerys Targaryen in the TV series Game of Thrones. I'm not going to say a lot about it, but rather let the picture speak for itself. I will say that this is now one my favorite hairstyles.

So without further ado, I present to you, Mhysa:

The jewelry is Freya by Caverna Obscura. It was from a gacha event a couple of years ago. The dress is Khaleesi by !gO!, which I thought was appropriate. The picture was taken at Sylvhara Tari, a role play region in Second Life.

All Good Things Come In Threes

So I found this landmark in a notice in the Second Life group "SL frees & offers" to something called "Creators Collection Box". Apparently an event that I was unaware of before now that is celebrating their first anniversary this month. As part of that celebration, the creators have set out little gifts at their booths, and I, never refusing a nice shiny freebie, of course went and picked up the lot of them. There were some amazing items, let me tell you. Or better yet, let me show you.

Here I am wearing Stripe Dress from S@BBiA, accessorized with Japanesque bag from PINK HUSTLER, a black ribbon choker from Kyoko Couture and the Fox Birthstone Ring from SOUEN.

A closeup of the cute little handbag accessory. I did not edit it at all for this picture, and as you can see it works quite well with Slink Relaxed hands. It also comes with a HUD to change between five different textures, so it can match many different outfits.

In this closeup we get a better look at the gift from [i Home], a cute little mouthie accessory with twinkling lights inside the wire ball. We also see the Fox Birthstone Ring from SOUEN.

This is the creator's own merchandise image for the ring. As you can see it's a full set with bracelet and rings, texture change with the HUD with 16 different gem textures to choose from.

From the back, the ribbon choker from Kyoko Couture has a pretty bow.

In this image I've accessorized the Stripe Dress from S@BBiA with this cute parasol from W-ZERO, an Antique Lace Choker from DownDownDown and a shiny pretty silver ring from :::Breath:::.

This gorgeous ring from :::Breath::: comes in black, gold and silver and is fully modifiable with the viewer editing tool to fit any size finger. I really can't decide which one of these I like best.

Here's a closer look at the parasol from W-ZERO. It comes with seven built in poses that can be accessed by touching the parasol. In fact, the pose in this picture is one of the built in poses.

This gorgeous creation comes from ..::( siratama )::.. and is in two parts, here I wore both together. What can I really say about this item, the picture speaks for itself.

The gift from LDG contained two collars, Bow Wow and Meow, named for the text on the front. The collars both come with a HUD to change between five different texture, all with gold metal parts. I was really impressed with the mesh work on these items, very high quality.

This adorable crown comes from -COLORFULxCHAOS- and is texture change by touch. Only two textures, gold and silver, but what more do you really need. It is also resizeable, in this image I enlarged it quite a bit because I thought it looked better, but that's just my personal opinion.

If dresses are not your thing, you can always choose to cover up with these Vintage Denim saggy pants from LikeA. Included are a pair of women's boxer briefs and a belt, both texture change with HUD.

So much for the wearable items. The rest of the gifts were items for your house. They went very well as decor in my Japanese themed Linden home.

First out, a shelf with a set of glass jars of food stuffs from  [[RH]] Design House. The names of the items are all in Japanese (I think!) so I have no idea what it is, but it looks yummy! And the textures are amazing.

The next gift is also from  [[RH]] Design House, a set of two candles and a couple of twigs with leaves and berries. Low prim (or land impact as they say these days). It looks just darling in a Japanese themed setting, as you can see.

I was really blown away by this one. It's now a permanent decor item in my house. It's a light and the bulbs flash when you touch them. It's made by AIR, a place I saved the landmark to for future reference.

I honestly don't know if this is supposed to be perfume or alcohol, but whatever the contents, it's adorable and it now has a place on my table. The item is from [Soul Mates] and is called Sakura Sake Dama, which leads me to believe it's supposed to be alcohol.

I just wanted to share my personal favorites to give you a taste of what's out there. The event goes on until March 20th, so you still have a few days to grab the goodies.

Second Life: Petite Newness @ She-Wolf Designs

I was inspired by St. Patrick's Day to create a whole collection of clothing for the Petite mesh avatar created by Yabusaka Loon. It took a couple of days, but it is finally all up in my Second Life Marketplace store, She-Wolf Designs.

Five pretty dresses that make it easy to be green this St. Patrick's Day.

Seven different pants and 19(!) tops to mix and match.

Five skirts, for those that don't want to wear pants.

The tops come in three different lengths for nearly infinite matching possibilities. Skirts and dresses come with glitch pants since various body parts tend to show through the mesh depending on animations. With the glitch pants and clever use of the mesh control HUD provided by Yabusaka Loon it's no longer a problem.

For those that might be interested, the shoes are Petites Boho Wedge Clogs (texture change in basic browns) from ThatChick and the hair is Shiki by Wasabi Pills.

Second Life: Venus Divine

I'm back! With pretty new pictures of pretty new things no less! Check it out!

Don't I look gorgeous! Of course, it's easy to look good when you're wearing some of the best designers in Second Life. This post is mainly about the hair and shoes though. But first...

...a different angle, just because.

Check out that hair! It's the latest style from rezology, Venus, and I think it looks just divine. Funny thing to, before I cut my hair, this is what it looked like.

And the shoes! Let's not forget the shoes! Latest release from Pure Poison, Rosalie. I got these from the group gift gacha, but the regular gacha is only L$50! That's a steal for something this gorgeous, if you ask me.

Rosalie comes in 14(!!) different colors!

I think you'll agree these are some pretty shiny goodies. Also, in case you're interested, the outfit is [LaVian&C0] SPRING 2015 China In Your Hand from (surprise!) LaVian&C0 and it comes with a texture change HUD. The necklace is from Chop Zuey (as usual) and it's called Amour Delicata (in platinum and blue).

Rock bottom, or just rocks?

The last couple of months I have been catching up on TV shows that I never got a chance to watch from the beginning, for various reasons. Right now I am watching "Supernatural" (beginning of season 9 so far) and I have to say, that show hits me right in the feels in so many ways.

I think the main thing I take away from the show is to keep fighting no matter what. That's easier said than done when you have persistant depressive disorder, but I find that the Winchesters and their extended family are an excellent example and, for me, a source of strength to draw on when I feel like I can't keep going.

That extended family is also an inspiration to me, reminding me that family doesn't necessarily mean biological relatives. That's a comfort to me since I keep  most of mine out of my life, mainly because they don't understand what I'm going through.

To then find out that the cast is every bit as inspirational as their characters is almost overwhelming. I wish the people around me understood just how deep this hole is that I'm trying to climb out of and just how much it means to be able to draw strength from people like the Winchesters (and Team Free Will), even though they're not "real" people. That's not the point. It's the concept that matters. And really, I'm just happy I can find comfort and strength anywhere, I don't care where it's from, just that it's there.

I wish I was part of a family like that.

Miss TWA 2015 - The journey continues...

As you've probably figured out by the title of this post, I made it to the Quarter Final of the contest. The challenge this time was to style one of the non-mesh gowns from The White Armory. I half expected this challenge actually, since they did the same last year for the quarter final, as well as the finale, so it was a good thing I saved a few of the prim gowns from TWA when I cleaned out the "black hole of doom" (i.e. my inventory) last. Clothing that uses prims, and system layers in particular, is not always compatible with mesh bodyparts, unless the creator has taken the trouble to go back and update them with mesh appliers, so I ended up deleting a large part of my inventory.

Coincidentally I ended up using the gown that was put up as the new group gift this week, Regent of Hampshire Gown Set. I was actually going to use another I had from before, but decided I liked the Regent gown better.

As last time, I took a few different pictures, this time I used the same lighting and background for all of them, only the poses were different, but I'll still post them all for your opinions.

First pose. What made me not pick this one was partly the way the flexi sleeve is shown, and partly because a part of the underskirt layer with the red trim is showing through the white.

Second pose. Discarded for the same reasons as the first one. Also, the pose is a bit too whimsical for a gown like this.

Third pose. Discarded for the simple reason that I didn't like the way the sleeves were shown. It's all in the details.

Fourth pose. I nearly picked this one, and now that I look at it again I'm honestly not sure why I didn't. Something about the position of the arms, I think.

Fifth pose. This was the one I picked in the end. I think I ended up choosing this one over #4 because it's not your traditional formal gown pose, it's a little different but still elegant. My thought was to portray the regal figure of a regent in a moment of reflection at the seaside and I think I captured it fairly well.

For those interested in the particulars, the gown is the TWA Regent of Hampshire Gown Set (available as a group gift until this Saturday (Sept 5th) at The White Armory), Chop Zuey Mystic Enchantress Set jewelry (necklace and earrings, currently available at the FabFree HQ), Chop Zuey Mystery of Owls Ring (limited edition for WWF), Slink Wire Tiara with Texture Change Gemstone (I think I got it as a hunt prize years and years ago), and although you can't see them in any of the pictures I'm also wearing the TWA Gleann Brook Mesh Elven Ballet Flats-Nature (they're red with gold scroll embroidery). The gown set comes with a coronet/circlet which is just darling, but it didn't match the rest of the jewelry so I changed it.

The skin is Niska - Sangria in Peach tone from Lumae and the hair is Dolce Far Niente from rezology.

Phew, I think I got everything. If I missed anything that you absolutely have to know, just poke me and I'll look it up.
